The Indian Health Service's National Council of Nurse Administrators named its 2004 Chief Nurse Officer award winners:Lt. Barbara Asher, RN, BSN, Hastings Indian Health Center, Oklahoma City Area; Wanda Choate, RN, BSN, Hastings Indian Health Center, Oklahoma City Area; C. Kathy Coons, RN, Hastings Indian Health Center, Oklahoma City Area; Neva Kayaani, RN, BSN, Shiprock Service Unit, Navajo Area; Sharon Miller, RN, Warm Springs Health and Wellness Center, Portland Area; Cmdr. Cassandra Nolan, RN, Phoenix Indian Medical Center, Phoenix Area; LaVerne Parker, RN, MSN, Aberdeen Area Office, Aberdeen Area; Tamara Wampler, RN, Hastings Indian Health Center, Oklahoma City Area; and Lt. Cmdr. Lois Miller, RN, Santa Fe Indian Hospital, Albuquerque Area.

 

The Emergency Nurses Association named its new board members. Nancy M. Banalumi, RN, CEN, MSN, Philadelphia, Pa., is the new President-Elect. William T. Briggs, RN, CEN, MSN, Boston, Mass., is the new Secretary-Treasurer. The three-year term members-at-large are Anne May, RN, CEN, BSN, Olney, Md., and Diane Gurney, RN, CEN, MS, Hyannis, Mass. The one-year term member-at-large is Christine Gisness, RN, FNP, CEN, MSN, Atlanta, Ga.

 

Nursing Knowledge International named Mark J. Ivory, BS, CPA, MBA, its director. The not-for-profit is a subsidiary of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International.

 

Melanie Osley, RN, CPHRM, MBA, Bolton, Conn., earned the designation of Fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, which rec ognizes outstanding individual achievement of professional excellence in the healthcare risk management profession.
