Abstract

The anticipated rise in the elderly population with chronic and life-threatening illness has been well documented. The purpose of this article is to recommend educational programs in end-of-life care, with an emphasis on culture and therapeutic responses to terminally ill patients to help nurses facilitate end-of-life discussions, consultation, and advocacy.
