LidoSite Topical System, a product of Vyteris, Inc. (Fair Lawn, NJ), has been approved for use as a delivery system to provide normal, intact skin local topical analgesia prior to the administration of superficial dermatologic procedures, including venipuncture, intravenous cannulation, and laser ablation of superficial skin lesions. It is approved for use in patients 5 years of age and older.

The system consists of the LidoSite Patch (lidocaine HCL/epinephrine topical iontophoretic patch 10%/0.1%) and the LidoSite Controller. The prefilled LidoSite patch administers lidocaine transdermally via a mild electric current that is regulated by the preprogrammed LidoSite Controller. The system is designed to work in just 10 minutes.
