Endoscopic ultrasound is just one of many specialty areas in the gastrointestinal lab and has been expanding its role in treating gastrointestinal disorders. With its increasing presence in the lab comes a need for nurses and assistants to be more knowledgeable about the patient, the disease process, techniques of the procedure, and the skills needed to perform the procedure.

This session will consist of a panel of nurses and a physician experienced in endoscopic ultrasound. The session is designed to provide skills and education in endoscopic ultrasound as well as to discuss the practice of therapeutic procedures. This will also be a hands-on experience for nurses with some background in endoscopic ultrasound who wish to expand their knowledge.
