Abstract

Patients with severe cerebral aneurysm bleeding typically don't receive aggressive treatment because of their dismal prospects. But according to researchers at the University of California at Los Angeles, endovascular therapy, which uses catheters to place platinum coils in an aneurysm and block blood flow to the aneurysm, can be used on patients too ill for traditional (and more invasive) surgical aneurysm clipping.
