Abstract

Is it legal for a nurse working in an extended-care facility to work 8 hours and then be forced to work a 12-hour shift starting 2 hours later? The regular night-shift nurse called in sick, so this nurse had sole responsibility for 60 patients during the night shift. The rest of the nurses are worried that administration could force us to do the same.
