My colleagues and I enjoyed reading "Serious Play" (Editorial, February). We've been discussing the value of a required pediatrics rotation for undergraduates. And what about obstetrics rotations? I teach at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park, Missouri, and one of our sister schools, at Meremec, Missouri, has decided to discontinue obstetrics rotations. Although all students are taught obstetrics theory, they have the option of a one-day observation in either an obstetrics department or an operating room. There is always value in exposure to various specialties in nursing.
