Abstract

Part 1 of a 2-part series addresses a joint effort between practice and education to develop future nursing administration curricula. The series reports on collaboration between the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the Council on Graduate Education for Administration in Nursing. In part 1, authors announce the call to action, discuss nursing administration as advanced nursing practice, emphasize the significance, and highlight the attributes of a beneficial interorganizational partnership. Part 2 (November 2006) will examine the reference documents used and introduce a unique 3-dimensional curriculum framework.
