Although the business of professional health care education differs from the business of health care itself, both strive to achieve outcomes that reflect a commitment to continuous quality improvement. The series of articles from West Suburban College of Nursing that unfold in this issue were written by faculty at the college, and describe one institution's continuous quality improvement tapestry, one that weaves together many of the continuous quality improvement principles evident throughout health care with the unique accreditation and curricular concerns of higher education. Planning and implementing a nursing curriculum within a culture of quality assures positive educational outcomes while also preparing students to understand and function well in the quality culture pervasive in health care institutions today.
