This year-end issue of Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation (JCR) is the last for which Gary Balady, MD, and I will serve as editors-in-chief. It has been a privilege and a labor of love to guide the journal over the past 6 years and we believe that JCR, which is about to mark its 25th year of publication, is well poised for continued success.

Starting with the January 2007 issue, Mark Williams, PhD, will begin his 5-year tenure as editor-in-chief, and we could not be more confident that the journal is in good hands. Dr Williams is well published, has served as an associate editor of JCR for the past 6 years, and is the editor of the AACVPR Clinical Practice Guidelines.

The Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation will have a new name as of January 2007, when it will become the Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation andPrevention (JCRP). We hope and expect that our content will expand to include more clinical studies of primary prevention, exercise physiology, and epidemiology.

We have worked hard to provide you with featured invited reviews in each issue on topics of clinical importance, we have invited world experts to comment on our published articles in invited editorials, we provide continuation education credits for one article each issue, and we rapidly publish brief reports and case reports as they are submitted. Your submissions will be reviewed rapidly and expertly by our distinguished editorial board and invited reviewers. Expect more great science and new features under the guidance of Dr Williams and his superb editorial team.
