APWCA

* Student Association. The American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA) has formed a student organization, the American Professional Wound Care Students' Association (APWCSA), which held its first educational conference on December 2, 2006. The meeting was planned by the student chapter at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. From its inception to the closing of the event, the activity was completely coordinated by students.

The conference was free of charge for students of podiatry, medicine, and nursing, as well as for residents. The conference was well attended and featured lecture topics that were jointly presented by a faculty member and a student. Vendors exhibiting at the event sponsored a lunch and refreshment breaks.

* National Conference. The APWCA's 2007 national clinical conference, Wound Care and the Related Sciences, will feature world opinion leaders from 7 countries, offering clinically relevant information for patient care. Specific sessions will incorporate computer-active response from the audience, allowing assessment of the registrants' response to questions for a dynamic interactive program. The conference will be held April 19-21, 2007, with a postconference course offered April 22, at the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center in Philadelphia, PA. Discounted conference registration will be available through March 17, 2007. Hotel rooms are available at a reduced rate through the APWCA conference block until April 1, 2007, unless rooms are sold out before that date.
