Abstract

This column focuses on diverse research involving the pediatric population that may be of interest to home care managers and clinicians. Four recently published research articles are summarized, with descriptions of implications for home care. The column begins with a summary of a study that found suboptimal identification of hypertension in children and adolescents. This is followed by evaluation of the medical home model used for children with autism, asthma, and other chronic medical conditions. The third article describes the shifting place of death for infants, children, and adolescents. The final summary discusses reports of pediatric exposure to potentially dangerous substances or contaminants. We suggest that our readers go to the original articles for additional details about the research findings.
