Abstract

Tiffany Harris, 45, is in your ED requesting pain medication for a migraine headache. Again. She's being treated by a psychiatric neurologist after organic causes of her migraines were ruled out. She didn't maintain her contract with the neurologist to only take opioids that he prescribed, and not seek pain medication at the ED, and she has a history of visiting multiple EDs seeking meperidine and hydromorphone, despite having completed inpatient drug rehabilitation.
