As I enter my second term as president, I look forward to 2010 as a time when ASPSN becomes stronger and more united. For the past year, I have focused on collaboration with other professional organizations, and, indeed, it has come true. In our recent convention in Seattle, collaboration occurred at many levels. With American Society of Plastic Surgeons, we once again worked in partnership on the Safety Panel. As presidents of the two organizations, Dr. John Canady and I spoke at each other's opening ceremonies. On the local level, ASPSN campaigned for donations for New Beginnings, an organization in Seattle that helps survivors of domestic violence. Discussions continue to take place regarding dual memberships with other professional nursing organizations. Our Seventh Aesthetic Symposium, in conjunction with American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, takes place in early spring. As our collaborations continue, a stronger and more united ASPSN emerges. Our strength comes from our members as we continue to unite all reconstructive and aesthetic nurses.
