ABSTRACT
The Emerging Leaders program was the creation of nursing informatics leaders who are members of the Alliance for Nursing Informatics (ANI). The program is designed to provide the support and tools necessary for the selected midcareer professional to accelerate development in leadership competencies that both further the individual's career and advance nursing informatics as a whole. Through the use of a leadership project and mentoring, the program unites an aspiring nursing informatics leader with situations, contacts, and opportunities that will foster growth in the key areas of communication and networking, strategic planning, negotiation, and leading change.
