Last week, a woman with a splinter in her eye came to the clinic where I work. The physician removed it, treated the injury, and placed a patch over her eye. The woman's husband was with her, and the staff assumed he'd drive her home. We didn't know that he doesn't drive and had come along just to provide support .

Apparently, the woman drove home with the patch on her eye. On the way, she ran up over a curb and into a yard, striking the home owner working there. He wasn't seriously hurt, but he's suing her, and she says she'll sue us because neither the physician nor I warned her that wearing an eye patch would affect her vision .
