Canada considers cannabinoids

Sativex, approved in Canada for treating neuropathic pain in adults with multiple sclerosis, is a cannabinoid analgesic. Cannabinoids have long been considered as drugs of abuse rather than therapeutic agents, although dronabinol (Marinol), a prescription marijuana extract, has been used to treat chemotherapyrelated nausea in oncology patients and anorexia in AIDS patients. 1
