Have you ever wondered why we go through all the troubles to do the emergency preparedness and then do these exercises to see if we have covered all the basics? I have and I did until Mt. Carmel Home Care found itself in the middle of a crisis. Now, I am ever so thankful that our department had planned ahead.

There were four sections in the plan. First, we performed a Hazard Vulnerability Study and Risk Analysis. Next, risks were identified, as were the specific resources and activities we had to address. Then, the steps or processes were identified to meet the needed event resolution. And last but not least, the four-step plan was tested and revamped in the areas found to have problems.
