Yesterday, the patient census in our medical/surgical unit was unexpectedly high, and I started passing the afternoon medications later than I should have. While I was administering meds, a physician asked me to stay with a patient during a procedure. He wasn't my patient, so I said I needed to finish passing meds first but I'd be happy to help after I finished. The physician walked off in a huff—and apparently reported me.
