Focus On: Influenza - Winter 2011
Influenza - many types of viruses cause this infection, yet the pandemic of 2009 caused by the influenza A (H1N1) virus is still fresh in our minds. Take some time to explore this collection of influenza resources: make sure you understand the basics of the disease, learn more specific information about H1N1 and what we have learned, brush up on the meaning and implications of pandemic influenza, review prevention and treatment options, and access patient education resources. Also important to note, both in the article and in our PowerPoint slides, A close-up view of flu, you'll find 2 handy tables: one of antiviral resistance and sensitivity and the other of diagnostic tests. In Take5: Influenza Prevention, you'll access a handy patient education tool to share with those in your care.
