Mary Koehn, PhD, ARNP, is an assistant professor of nursing at Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas. Mary has written extensively on women's health, childbirth and infant feeding. She is a certified childbirth educator, and a volunteer bringing needed services to low-income women of the Planeview area. Mary attends Hope Community Church, in Andover, Kansas. Figure. Slow the aging process! Stay young forever! Women are bombarded with media slogans and products claiming to slow or stop the aging process. Modern North American society presents the impression that aging is unpleasant and cruel, therefore everything possible must be done to avoid it. In spite of society's distaste for growing older, aging is not optional. The Bible offers an alternative perspective—that aging is something to be enjoyed and embraced.
