Everyday you care for patients who have diabetes or are at risk for developing it. Today there are 24 million Americans who have diabetes; 25% of those patients don’t even know they have it. What’s more alarming is the 57 million Americans who have prediabetes and will go on to develop the disease unless we intervene.

The American Nurses Association and Lippincott’s NursingCenter.com have partnered to provide you with the latest evidence-based, best practice information and resources on diabetes prevention and management. As an ANA member, you will have free access to Focus On: Diabetes Collection -- Spring 2010 for the entire month of May. 

To access this collection you must be logged in as a member of NursingCenter.  Already a member?  Login now.  Not a member yet?  Join now.  It’s free!

1. After you’ve logged into NursingCenter, click the Clinical Resources tab in the navigation bar and scroll down to the Focus On section.  Click the link  “Focus On: Diabetes.” 

2. Next, click the link in the top section of the page labeled   Focus On: Diabetes Collection – Spring 2010 On the next page you will prompted in Step 2 to enter a Digital Coupon.  Enter ANA-NW2010 in the box and click Continue.  You will see a receipt showing no charge for the collection. 

3. Click “Continue” once more and you will see a link View or Download File. Click the link to access the articles. 

4. The next time you visit NursingCenter, you can access the collection from your file drawer by logging in and clicking My NursingCenter in the top right of the page.  Please note:  To avoid being prompted for payment, you must access the collection using the Focus On: Diabetes Collection – Spring 2010 link.  The coupon code is not valid for individual articles listed on the Focus On: Diabetes page.

As a bonus gift to you, you will be able to take one of the 3 continuing education activities* that are part of the Diabetes collection.  To earn CE, follow Step 1 above.  On the Focus On: Diabetes page, select one of the articles with the  icon.  After reading the article, click the Take Test link.

When you have completed and passed the online test, you will see a section entitled Payment Information that includes the following box under step 2:

Enter the coupon code ANA-FREE2010A and click “Continue.”  Your discount will automatically be applied to your purchase.
