I once had a pediatric patient who was in the hospital for 6 months or so. Her mom left one weekend to go on a camping trip with one of her other children. She said as soon as she walked back into the hospital she took a deep breath, smelled all those hospital smells, heard the monitors from the hallway and thought to herself, "Ahhh, it's good to be home." She asked me the same thing, Lisa. "Is that odd?" Parents can feel that, too.
