What is RSS ?
RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. An RSS feed provides a regularly scheduled way for distributing and collecting an updated summary of information from sources on the Web, including newspapers, magazines, shopping site, and blogs.

NursingCenter offers several free RSS feeds to create and distribute news feeds that include links, headlines, and summaries to material recently published on the site:

  • Recommended Reading: Updated whenever new journal articles are added to the Recommended Reading list.
  • Recommended CE: Updated whenever new CE activities are added to the Recommended CE list.
  • New CE: Updated whenever new CE activities are published on NursingCenter.
  • Journals: Updated whenever a new journal issue is published on NursingCenter.

RSS delivers its information as an XML file, also called an ' RSS feed', 'webfeed', ' RSS stream', or ' RSS channel'.

How do I use RSS feeds ?
To use RSS feeds, you will need either a news aggregator/reader or blog reader. These aggregators/readers download and display RSS feeds for you. Many of these types of programs are available for download on the web, both free and commercial versions.
