Abstract: An analysis of lifestyle choices of Midwestern young adults suggests that this sector does not heed evidence-based guidelines for reducing risk of chronic diseases, which are the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems. Nurse practitioners who consistently promote the guidelines may improve long-term health in this subpopulation.
