Arkansas CE Requirements for License Renewal

Arkansas.jpegAs a nurse in the state of Arkansas, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license.

Renewal Requirements

RN

  • Every two years
    • 15 practice focused contact hours from a nationally recognized or state continuing education approval body recognized by the ASBN 
LPN
  • Every two years
    • 15 practice focused contact hours from a nationally recognized or state continuing education approval body recognized by the ASBN
Advanced Practice
  • Advanced practice registered nurses with prescriptive authority must complete an additional 5 contact hours of pharmacotheraputics related to their specialty certification.
    • Two (2) of the five (5) hours must contain information related to maintaining professional boundaries, and the prescribing rules, regulation and laws that apply to APRNs in Arkansas. The link to this MANDATORY course is located on the ASBN website at www.arsbn.org
    • If it is your first renewal since issuance Prescriptive Authority, you must take an additional 1 credit hour of continuing education related to prescription use and abuse. The link to this MANDATORY course is located on the ASBN website at www.arsbn.org
