Massachusetts CE Requirements for License Renewal
As a nurse in the state of Massachusetts, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license.
Renewal Requirements
RN
- Every two years
- 15 hours of continuing education
- Initial taining and education in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with cognitive impairments, including, but not limited to, Alzheimer's disease and dementia (one-time course, no specified number of hours). Licensees applying to renew a license must complete the course by November 7, 2022
LPN
- Every two years
- 15 hours of continuing education
- Initial taining and education in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with cognitive impairments, including, but not limited to, Alzheimer's disease and dementia (one-time course, no specified number of hours). Licensees applying to renew a license must complete the course by November 7, 2022
Advanced Practice
- Every two years
- 15 hours of continuing education in the advanced practice nurse role
- Initial taining and education in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with cognitive impairments, including, but not limited to, Alzheimer's disease and dementia (one-time course, no specified number of hours). Licensees applying to renew a license must complete the course by November 7, 2022
