Montana CE Requirements for License Renewal

Montana.jpegAs a nurse in the state of Montana, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license.

*The Montana Board of Nursing (as of October 14, 2020)  will waive all continuing education requirements for all licensees renewing in 2020 (“even year renewals”) and all licensees renewing in 2021 (“odd year renewals”). This applies to all medication aide IIs, LPNs, RNs, and APRNs licensed in Montana. 

Renewal Requirements

RN
  • Every two years
    • 24 hours of continuing education 
LPN 
  • Every two years
    • 24 hours of continuing education 
Advanced Practice
  • Every two years
    • 24 hours of continuing education 
    • 12 hours in the area of pharmacotherapeutics for APRN with prescriptive authority
