As a nurse in the state of Nebraska, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license.

Renewal Requirements

RN
  • Every two years
    • 20 hours of continuing education 
    • No more than 4 hours may be from CPR or BLS
    • At least 10 hours must be peer reviewed
LPN 
  • Every two years
    • 20 hours of continuing education 
    • No more than 4 hours may be from CPR or BLS
    • At least 10 hours must be peer reviewed
Advanced Practice
  • If prescriber with DEA license
    • 3 hours in opiate prescribing for 2020-2028 renewals
