Washington CE Requirements for License Renewal
As a nurse in the state of Washington, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license.
Renewal Requirements
RN
- Annually (As of June, 2021)
- Active nursing practice: 8 hours of continuing education and 96 hours of active practice Retired active nursing practice: 8 hours of continuing education and 24 hours a year (max of 90 days a year)
- Every 6 years: 6 hour suicide asssessment, treatment, and management training
LPN
- Annually
- Active nursing practice: 8 hours of continuing education and 96 hours of active practice
- Retired active nursing practice: 8 hours of continuing education and 24 hours a year (max of 90 days a year)
- Every 6 years: 6 hour suicide asssessment, treatment, and management training
Advanced Practice
- Every two years
- 30 hours of continuing education in specialty area
- 15 hours of continuing education in pharmacology for ARNP with prescriptive authority
- Every 6 years: 6 hour suicide asssessment, treatment, and management training
