National Alliance of Wound Care

The Board of Directors of the National Alliance of Wound Care (NAWC) announced the winners of the fourth annual WCC Achievement Awards and Scholarship at the NAWC's 2010 Wild on Wounds (WOW) Conference in Las Vegas in September. "The accomplishments of each winner clearly illustrate the passion for wound care shared by our fine group of WCCs. We especially want to acknowledge and thank everyone who submitted nominations for this year's awards," said Debbie Hecker, RN, MBA, WCC, Executive Director of the NAWC. The winners were as follows:

 

* Outstanding Research in Wound Care: Christine Fanelli, MS, NP-BC, CWS, WCC

 

* Outstanding Work in Diabetic Wounds: Kulbir Dhillon, NP, WCC

 

* Outstanding WCC of the Year: Sharon Perry RN, NP-BC, WCC

 

* WCC Scholarship: Maren Zinski, BSN, RN (The WCC Scholarship was provided by RecoverCare.)

American Professional Wound Care Association

Review course. The American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA) is offering a comprehensive 2-day review course on wound care management and intervention: 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, Saturday, January 29; and 7:30 am to 1 pm, January 30, 2011, at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at the Los Angeles Airport, California.

 

10th annual conference. The APWCA2011 National Clinical Conference will be held on March 31 to April 3, 2011, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, celebrating the 10th anniversary of this annual event.
