Guest Speakers Featured at Symposium

A diverse faculty and special guest speakers are among the presenters at the annual Clinical Symposium on Advances in Skin & Wound Care, being held September 9-12, 2011, at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland, just outside Washington, District of Columbia. Last month, we highlighted guest speaker US Army BG Rhonda Cornum, MD, PhD, director of the Army's Comprehensive Soldier Fitness program, who will present "Caring for Warriors and their Wounds" at a general session for all attendees on Sunday morning, September 11, 2011.

Another special guest speaker, FDNY Battalion Commander Richard Picciotto, the highest-ranking firefighter to survive the World Trade Center collapse and the last fireman to escape the devastation, will close the day's events. Cmdr Picciotto, who is also author of Last Man Down, was trapped for several hours in a stairwell in the World Trade Center's North Tower when it collapsed a decade ago on September 11. His message is a tribute to those who lost their lives that day, as well as a celebration of life and its unpredictable nature.
