Perfect Crime

A Saturday afternoon movie I watched long ago as a child, The man staggers across the medieval town square with a knife in his back. Rendered invisible to the townspeople by a curse, no one can pull the knife out. Fifty years later, the man is here in my office. He does not stagger, because he cannot walk. The knife is multiple myeloma, and no one in the palaces of glass and steel will remove it. "He has no Payer Source", and "We are not Funded to do that".

The knife has been in and twisting for six months.

I recall the words of Gamerro, how the perfect crime Is the one we commit where everyone can see it. Because then there are no witnesses, Only accomplices.
