Abstract

Pituitary apoplexy, defined as infarction or hemorrhage of the pituitary gland, can cause physiologic disturbances as a result of neuroendocrine homeostatic disruption and compression of neurologic structures. Deficiency of hormones secreted by the pituitary gland can potentially contribute to a patient's functional decline and become a barrier to successful rehabilitation. We present a case of a patient with pituitary apoplexy and the therapeutic challenges faced during rehabilitation.
