Preconference Workshops Feature "Hands-on" Experience

Sharpen your knowledge and skills by enrolling in preconference workshops that will be held prior to the main events of the 30th annual Clinical Symposium on Advances in Skin & Wound Care at the Hyatt Regency, New Orleans, Louisiana, September 18 to 21, 2015. Preconference workshops will be held during the morning on September 18, 2015, and the main conference will begin at 1 pm on September 18.

This year's agenda offers "Practical Assessment Tools for Wound Healing," which will provide hands-on instruction of the essential diagnostic and therapeutic "tools" necessary to achieve superior patient outcomes. Topics will include epidermal grafting, negative-pressure wound therapy, vascular screening, point-of-care ultrasonic imaging, ultrasound-guided debridement, and cellular tissue-based products.

An intensive workshop on "Off-loading: Global Management of the Diabetic Foot" will begin with didactic lectures that discuss the initial evaluation and diagnosis of diabetic lower-extremity wounds. Treatment considerations and adjunctive modalities, as well as clinical practice guidelines, will be discussed. Attendees will demonstrate competencies in application and removal of total contact casting.

A "Virtual Debridement Course with Onsite Skills Workshop" is also available to attendees. A virtual course occurs pre-event, and instructions will be sent upon receipt of registration. The virtual workshop provides detailed lectures exploring the literature and evidence supporting wound debridement, as well as discussion of all current techniques including autolytic, enzymatic, mechanical, sharp-excisional, and ultrasonic debridement technologies. Mastery of the skills lab will be validated by a performance using various sharp debridement instruments on a porcine model, onsite in New Orleans.

All workshops require a separate fee with registration, and space is limited. So, reserve your spot now in one of these educational workshops. To register, visit:
