Abstract
According to this study:
* Previously undetected valvular heart disease (VHD) is present in more than half of older adults, especially those in lower socioeconomic groups.
* Clinically significant VHD is three times more common in patients with atrial fibrillation; therefore atrial fibrillation may be a potential early marker.
