Abstract

Wounds truly are a global concern. This was clearly evident at the recent Congress of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) in Florence, Italy. “One Vision—One Mission” was the theme of the fifth congress held on September 26 to 29, 2016, at Italy’s historic site of Fortezza da Basso. More than 4300 attended the event, including 1893 physicians, 2087 nurses, other healthcare professionals, and postgraduate students. Many areas of the world were represented at this international congress. Although most participants were from Europe (2723), 877 were from Asia, followed by 673 from the Americas, 68 from Oceania, and 39 from Africa.
