Abstract
A process improvement and educational initiative by the diabetes care committee, educators, and staff at this hospital resulted in the improvement in the care of patients with diabetes on three adult nursing units as reflected by the time interval between blood glucose testing and insulin administration measured before and after the process changes and educational effort. The findings of this study support the importance of evaluation by staff development educators in the implementation of a process improvement plan.
