V.A.C. Veraflo Cleanse Choice Dressing. This dressing is considered to be an adjunctive nonsurgical option that may help clean large complex wounds when complete surgical debridement is not possible or appropriate, according to the manufacturer. When used in conjunction with the V.A.C. Veraflo Therapy, Acelity's negative-pressure wound therapy and instillation system, the dressing may help provide rapid cleansing of wounds to enhance healing. The 3-layer dressing includes a contact layer to provide "mechanical" movement at the wound surface in combination with cyclic delivery and dwell of topical solutions to help remove slough and other bioburden from the wound, and 2 cover layers to provide application options for wounds with varying depths.

Foam Lite. This lightweight, flexible silicone foam dressing designed for managing low-exuding to nonexuding chronic and acutewounds was recently launched in the United States. The thin dressing may be applied to wounds such as skin abrasions, skin tears, and partial-thickness burns, which do not require the absorbency of regular foam dressings, according to the manufacturer. The dressing is flexible and conforms to the body, including the knees, elbows, wrists, and ankles. The manufacturer reports that silicone adhesive is breathable and perforated and is easy to apply, reposition, and remove.
