On behalf of the entire 2003 Program Committee, I am proud to invite you to the 18th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The national Annual Meeting fosters AACVPR's main goals: to improve clinical practice, to promote scientific inquiry, and to advance education for the benefit of healthcare professionals and the public. You will notice in this brochure a wide variety of topics representing the diverse interests and needs of practitioners in our field. The Program Committee has recruited state of the art speakers concerning the scientific principles, latest advances, and newest challenges impacting rehabilitation. Additionally, our pre-meeting workshops on Peripheral Arterial Disease Rehabilitation and Lifestyle Change will enhance your education. Check out what's new! In addition to the many cutting-edge lectures and poster presentations, you can visit the AACVPR Annual Meeting Exhibitor Showcase to get updates on innovative products, services, and equipment that assist in enhancing our practices. Avoid reinventing the wheel! Establish and solidify professional ties as you learn from the best. Our diverse membership includes some of the world's foremost cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation professionals, sharing their experience in both structured sessions and informal conversations. Science, practice, reimbursement, leadership, program certification, and lobbying are topics that draw us to meet each year. Re-energize your career and your spirit! Take a step back from "the daily grind" to assess your current practices and focus on the future enhancements.

The AACVPR Annual Meeting is a great time to reconnect with old friends, meet new associates, and enjoy a new part of our country. Kansas City, here we come! Our 2003 host is known as "The City of Fountains." But, perhaps, it is better known for the city's famous barbecue and rich jazz tradition. The Program Committee, in conjunction with our local affiliate society, has put together an optional event "menu" that features these traditions, not to mention the preeminent shopping in the Midwest. We look forward to greeting you at another successful meeting this year. The knowledge you take home will enhance your practice, enrich your career, and ultimately improve our field as a whole. See you in "KC!"

All the best,
