Abstract

Review objective/question: The objectives of this review are:

 

i. To examine the burden of vision loss in Indigenous peoples worldwide by:

 

* Assessing the prevalence of vision loss in Indigenous peoples of the world.

 

* Assessing what eye diseases or conditions are responsible for vision loss in Indigenous peoples of the world.

 

* Reporting risk factors for vision loss in Indigenous peoples of the world.

 

ii. To compare the burden of vision loss in Indigenous populations with relevant non-indigenous groups, where possible. Where comparisons are made within the same study, this direct method of comparison will be used. Where necessary, indirect comparisons will be made across studies with caution.
