The ECRI Institute will continue the work of the National Guideline Clearinghouse. The content of the National Guideline Clearinghouse, a database of clinical practice guidelines, was in jeopardy when government funding expired in July and the website closed. However, that outcome was forestalled by the ECRI Institute, which has announced it will continue the service. An interim website will launch this fall. According to an ECRI representative, there will now be a fee for the formerly free guideline service, but participating guideline developers will be able to access and contribute to the website free of charge.
