I applaud your comments about BSN-to-PhD programs. Without a doubt, a nurse's primary focus should be the clinical service she provides to patients their families.

Those faculty members who prepared me at the undergraduate and graduate levels who made a lasting impression were experienced clinicians. It was a joy to be in their presence during a lecture or at the bedside during clinical rounds. Their experience fostered confidence and insight.

Excellence in teaching is evident when a faculty member weaves her experience into a lecture, using anecdotes that can only be gleaned from clinical practice.
