Abstract

Wound care is full of challenges, and most of them are "equal opportunity" dilemmas, creating as much frustration in one setting as another (e.g., accurately identifying and correcting etiologic factors, assuring nutritional support and glucose control, working with other health team members to provide appropriate topical therapy, and identifying and managing the nonhealing wound). However, the home healthcare setting has a unique set of challenges in addition to the "old standbys." This month's column focuses on those challenges and offers readers several potential solutions.
