Publishers provide many services for authors. At Lippincott Wolters Kluwer, we have many resources that may answer questions about the publication process or guide an author through specific challenges inherent in professional writing.

Please use these helpful links to some of our services.

Author resource Review and Educational Resources

International Committee of Medical Journal Editors

ICMJE Definition of Authorship

This site lists the criteria for authorship, including those that distinguish authors from other contributors. Often, this step is the first step in a long process. Recommendations from this site may be helpful to guide that first discussion.

Unique Identifiers for Authors

ORCID Author Identification

ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities, ensuring that your work is recognized. Register on ORCID so your author name cannot be confused with a similar author name.

Guidelines and Formatting Models

The EQUATOR Network Author Toolkit and Reporting Guidelines

This website offers free access to reporting guidelines and author toolkits.

Each type of article may require specific guidelines or structured formats to present the material in a logistical manner. Often, these guidelines provide a publishing format that best represents the topic. On each journal's website, you will find Information for Authors, where editors suggest specific guidelines for manuscripts. Most of the publication guidelines suggested can be accessed through EQUATOR.
