Home sweet home and filled with knowledge, inspiration, and passion after attending the 2018 International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN) Meeting in Chicago. In addition to all the excellent general and concurrent sessions offered at this year's meeting, a review course for both the Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN) and Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS) examinations was offered as well as an opportunity to take both the examinations on-site.

As President of the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board (PSNCB), I would like to take this opportunity to thank my 2017-2018 Board members who have worked diligently to achieve our goals this year:

* Secretary-Treasurer-Sharon Fritzsche

* Director-Lisa Griffin

* Director-Abbey Helton

* Director-Kathy Mortl

* Public Member-Mary Totten

* ISPAN Board Liaison-Amanda Bailey

* Administrator-Elyse Libeskind

In addition, I am pleased to announce our new Board member for 2018-2019 Marilyn Cassetta, who will be replacing Abbey Helton. Abbey's term is completed, and I want to thank her for all of her wonderful contributions to the PSNCB.

I also want to extend my gratitude to Amanda Bailey for her service as our ISPAN Board Liaison and welcome Gerrie Obi who will be coming on to replace Amanda as the new ISPAN Board Liaison.

We currently have 316 CPSNs comprising 247 ISPAN members, 48 nonmembers, and 21 who have obtained retired status. Since introducing the CANS examination only 4 years ago, we currently have 309 CANS comprising 225 ISPAN members, 83 nonmembers, and 1 who obtained retired status.

The PSNCB has been working diligently to make your certification and recertification process as simple as possible. Now you have the option of uploading your continuing education certificates beginning 1 month after successfully passing either of the certification examinations. Or when recertifying, you may start uploading your certificates 1 month after acceptance of your prior recertification packet. Please take a moment to look at our newly updated PSNCB Web site. Review the guidelines for becoming certified as well as for the recertification process by visiting the ISPAN Web site and clicking the certification tab. Log-in by using the Certified Nurses Area tab. Certification certificates are available for purchase through the PSNCB Web site

Just a friendly reminder, if you presented at The Meeting in Chicago, you may submit that for continuing education credit. As always, please feel free to reach out to me or any of the Board members with any questions related to the certification process.

Respectfully submitted,

Renee Hinojosa, MSN, APRN, ACNS-BC, CPSN, CANS
