Preconference Coding Workshop and Credentialing Exam

For the first time, this year a preconference day-long workshop on Home Health Coding will be given followed by an opportunity to take the HCS-D Examination offered by the Board of Advanced Medical Coding. Successfully passing the exam allows you to receive the Home Care Coding Specialist Credential. Certified coders ensure maximum appropriate reimbursement while reducing the risk of audit. Those with demonstrated proficiency will significantly increase the value they bring to their agencies. Nancy McGuire, a leading coding expert will teach you how to navigate the maze of diagnosis coding for home health, focusing on the critical issues you are facing today.

Vicki Hitzges will open the 2-day meeting and motivate, inspire, and keep you laughing while sharing ideas on how to make your work rewarding and productive. Bob Fazzi's presentation is always packed with up-to-date industry information and an outline of the opportunities that lie ahead for home care. Luncheon speakers will provide many new ideas to take back to your agencies and a "Hot Topics Breakfast" where you can share food and ideas with associates and newfound colleagues. Discover how your peers are handling some of the day-to-day challenges that fill your lives.

The National Awards Banquet and Celebration is a heart-warming and fun evening. Here VNAA recognizes individuals who have been nominated by their organizations as being an outstanding leader, volunteer, nurse, home health aide, and legislator. All gather together to be recognized and cheered for the services they have provided in home health during 2003.

Expanded educational programs and poster sessions allow you to take away information about numerous issues. Whether you're looking for leadership or clinical programs, diversification ideas, more information on technology, information on handling supplies, finance issues, fundraising, case weight accuracy, new private programs, Medicare appeals and mediation, palliative care programs, or pain management-you will find these and more in New Orleans.
