In the article1 "Individualized Family-Centered Developmental Care: An Essential Model to Address the Unique Needs of Infants With Congenital Heart Disease", the second paragraph on page 2 should read "Many positive outcomes of IFDC have been demonstrated. Individualized Family centered Developmental Care originally evolved from the Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program (NIDCAP), which demonstrated positive outcomes for premature infants including enhanced brain structure and function, along with improved behavioral outcomes into school age.11-14" In addition, Tables 1& 2, should have the following footnotes "Table 1 is modified from the NIDCAP approach and the Synactive Theory of Development.69" "Table 2 is modified from the NIDCAP approach and the Synactive Theory of Development.69" The following statements should have had the following citations. Page 4, end of paragraph 1: "Individualized Family-centered Developmental Care requires a shift in the critical care paradigm to include the evaluation of the infant's behavior and building a relationship between caregiver, infant, and family.69" Page 5, middle of paragraph 1: "To provide this care, nurses must add to the medical and task-oriented model of caregiving to include a relationship-based model of care where the infant is recognized as an individual who is communicating and interacting with the environment. 68-69"
