CME Course Offered

A Harvard Continuing Medical Education (CME) course on "Diabetic Foot Diabetic Foot Management" will be held November 4 to 5, 2004, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, Boston, MA. The program, presented by the Department of Surgery, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Joslin Diabetes Center, both affiliates of Harvard Medical School, offers participants the opportunity to earn up to 13.5 Category 1 CME credits.

 

Scheduled topics include: "Epidemiology of Diabetic Foot Complications," Barry Rosenblum, DPM; "Managing the Diabetic Patient Medically," Ramachandiran Cooppan, MD; "Risk Factors of Diabetic Wounds," Thomas Lyons, DPM; "Neurologic Screening of the Diabetic Foot," John Steinberg, DPM; "Offloading Techniques for Plantar Wounds," John Giurini, DPM; and "Antibiotic Therapy in the Infected Diabetic Foot," A.W. Karchmer, MD.
