Abstract

ABSTRACT: As more veterans apply to nursing programs, nurse educators must acknowledge that many veterans are disadvantaged by moral injury and spiritual distress resulting from their military service. University faculty, in collaboration with Veterans Administration healthcare services, have found that referring students with unresolved spiritual distress to the Building Spiritual Strength intervention is a beneficial faith-based means for students to learn to manage their struggles and continue their education.
